What to say...

This is my first posting, ever. I don't know the purpose behind my blog really. I could talk about my hobbies, my work, but all in all, I'm pretty sure that I'm not that interesting. :) Oh well, here we go anyway.

My interests might be interesting to someone - not sure who. There are a lot of people who share my passion for learning history - I specifically love medieval history, which lately, I've been totally enthralled with. I've always loved learning about the English, French, Spanish Royalty, but since i was recently laid up due to a surgery and spent all this time on the web reading up on Royalty, I've been going absolutely crazy for it. To me, it's all a bit confusing though - the marriages, the suffering, the deaths, the crazy people running a whole country based on nothing more than traditions. Once in school i did a project about my family lineage - i loved it. I think that's what started my passion for history. My grandmother had spent years doing the family genealogy - i was able to use most of that info, luckily! I learned then that I have distance ties to a French Monarchy - I believe it is Louis XIV that i am distantly related to on my fathers side- very cool indeed!! Also, i found out that in Pueblo, where I'd recently moved, that i had cousins - distant cousins, two times removed - CRAZY! We found that out all because of a book that was published about a family which happens to be a relation to me through marriage.


Another passion of mine is music - i love to sing. A long time ago, in High School, I'd perform at school functions, no more than that really. Recently, I've been inspired to get back into it - get some voice lessons and join a choir - something to express myself. My friend Chuck and I talked this past spring, on a snowy Denver Saturday, about how we feel the need for a release. Chuck's dad has a band in Pueblo and well, we thought it'd be pretty snazzy to sing w/ the band. We haven't pursued this further but that's not to say it won't happen.
